September 19 – 20, 2017 - LET THERE BE DRUMS - Mick Sterling aims to break world record with gargantuan Beatles cover.  According to the Let There Be Drums website, the medley will be “led by the world’s most recorded drummer, Bernard Purdie, and featuring top drummers who have performed and recorded with artists such as Miles Davis, Joe Cocker, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, and Jonny Lang.”  1000 drummers helping 1000 Minnesota families trying to set a world-record as 1000 drummers perform with a 30-piece band the final medley of The Beatles ABBEY ROAD Album.  Each drummer that participates is asked to find a sponsor for at least $150.00. The 30 Days Foundation, a charity founded by Sterling, will receive some of these proceeds.   This is a free event starting on Sept. 19 at McNally Smith School of Music and the main event on Harriet Island.  Schedule of Events:  Tuesday, Sept. 19th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm – A series of Drum Clinics featuring Bernard “Pretty” Purdie as well as featured drummers Jimmy Paxson, Jay Williams and others to be announced. September 23, 2017 - Love My Pet Fair - Coon Rapids Love My Pet Fair grew from the realization that people have strong bonds with their pets and consider their pets as part of the family. The goal of the Coon Rapids Love My Pet Fair is to provide pet lovers within it's community education, resources and fun activities to celebrate responsible pet ownership.  From demonstrations, to pet costume contests, to pet art and more, people and pets had a great time together.  It is our mission to provide a safe space for pets and people to mingle, learn a few things, and have fun!
